Project Goals
40-50 Warren Street involves the Boston Transportation Department parking lot totaling 8,296 sq. ft. in the Nubian Square section of Roxbury. This parcel, and 3 others -- 75-81 Dudley Street, 2147 Washington Street, and 135 Dudley Street -- has been made available for development as part of PLAN: Nubian Square. After an extensive public planning process, a development Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued in July 2018, calling for mixed use commercial and housing for the site. Two proposals were received and New Urban Collaborative received tentative designation as developer of the site in the summer of 2019. New Urban Collaborative's proposal includes 25 residential units with a significant portion of affordable units, as well as commercial space for offices, retail, and a restaurant.
