The Public Facilities Department (PFD), Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF), and Fennick McCredie Architecture invite you to join us for a remote meeting to discuss the  BCYF Clougherty Pool Project.

Celebrate Black culture with an evening of music performances, poetry, art, and more! We will have a conversation on the legacy of racism and discrimination that Black Americans have resisted. Attendees will be invited to write intentions for the Black Diaspora in the spirit of Sankofa.

This event will highlight Black Americans and their continued efforts again racial inequality with speakers, reflections, and performances. 

It’s school registration season, and SPARK Boston’s newest program, the Back to School event series, is kicking off with a conversation with the Superintendent of Boston Public Schools, Mary Skipper. Superintendent Skipper began this role in BPS in Fall 2022, and previously served as the Superintendent of Somerville Public Schools. Join us for a moderated discussion with the Superintendent to learn about her perspectives on her first school year in charge, get an early look at her vision for the future of BPS, and understand how she and her team plan to improve the district for families across Boston.

This first event will be fully virtual. Please note that this conversation will be both recorded and streamed in order to share learnings and information with those who cannot join. Come join us for this exciting conversation!

SPARK's Back to School series seeks to invite young and emerging professionals into conversations around the realities and possibilities that exist within Boston's education ecosystem, educate individuals on how to navigate the complicated education landscape, and activate individuals to share their current experiences and consider potential solutions to challenges. This series should be especially informative for parents or expectant parents of young children who want to better understand the complex educational ecosystem in Boston, but all are welcome to attend (especially 20- to 35-year-old City of Boston residents).

The SBTAP project team and SPARK invites you to join us for Pint with a Planner in South Boston at Publico on Tuesday, February 7. There will be free appetizers provided and a cash bar available. This is an opportunity to gather with planners, project managers, and community engagement staff from the BPDA and BTD to learn more about the work ahead and provide your insight about traveling into, out of, and through Southie. Ask questions about the planning process, and share your goals and visions for the future transportation network in South Boston with the people bringing it to life.
