The dog park features 2 fenced in areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs.  Amenities for comfort like water for dogs and their humans, shade for creatures with 2 and 4 legs, and gated vestibules with leash posts and a bulletin board are included.  Mounds and platforms create some enrichment challenges for dogs who are so inclined.

Halloween is known as a day of fun and mischief, but we're making it one of service too! Join SPARK Boston at Women's Lunch Place, Back Bay's premiere day shelter for unhoused women to see their incredible programs in a whole new light. Over drinks and snacks, you can learn more about their incredible work empowering this vulnerable community and how you can get involved as a volunteer or a member of their Young Professionals program. Costumes are encouraged - it is a Halloween party after all! 

You can support WLP by bringing a pair of new socks, gift card to Dunkin' or Starbucks, or another high need in-kind donation item. We'll also be doing an on-site service project as part of the event. So tell your friends and get your spooky season on with SPARK Boston!

Ever seen a new building going up in your neighborhood, and wondered "how did that get there?" Meet the people behind the magic of Boston's biggest housing boom ever. Staff members of the Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) will join the SPARK Boston Council in Dorchester for our signature community mixer event. Learn more about the BPDA's many functions as a quasi-government agency in a low pressure environment with snacks and friends. We call it: Pint with a Planner! 

The BPDA will be providing the food from Ashmont Grill, but we need you to bring your questions about community engagement, programming, and Boston's housing market. There's no formal agenda. This is an opportunity to share an evening (and should you choose to purchase one, a drink) with the City's planning, workforce development, and real estate team, as well as other young professionals from the neighborhood. We hope you will join us for the Award Ceremony for the 2nd Annual Renters' Garden Contest on Friday, October 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Charles River Speedway. This ceremony will celebrate the creativity and transformations renters have performed with plants, gardens, and flowers in our neighborhood. For a community that does not own and sometimes doesn't have access to land, we have had a range of submissions giving us insight into how renters' have incorporated plants and greenery in their limited spaces. Submissions are open through Tuesday, September 27.

Check out the Speedway, now totally full of vendor with us at this outdoor ceremony next to Notch Brewery's beer garden. Be sure to check out all it has to offer for drinks, eats, and more after the ceremony!
