Apply today to serve on Community Advisory Board for green jobs

The City is seeking applications for a Community Advisory Board that will help guide the development and implementation of green jobs programming in Fiscal Year 2022.

The City of Boston is launching a new green jobs initiative to support equitable recovery in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Mayor Janey’s Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) budget includes $1 million for green jobs, and another $1 million dedicated to zero waste and mobility jobs. The pandemic exposed and exacerbated systemic inequities that have been prevalent in our city and our nation for too long. As we recover from the pandemic, we are committed to an equitable recovery that focuses on the needs of our most vulnerable residents, with training and career pathways for residents in the jobs of the future. Investing in green jobs now means investing in an equitable and thriving economy and working towards a climate resilient future.

For this initiative, the City is seeking applications for a Community Advisory Board that will help guide the development and implementation of green jobs programming in FY22:

Community Advisory Board (CAB) members will be key partners in shaping our FY22 plan. In collaboration with the CAB, the City hopes to invest in green jobs measures that represent community-supported values and support an equitable recovery, with wealth building and economic mobility for our residents.

The application will be open for the next month. We will review applications on a rolling basis, so please share this with your friends engaged in green jobs and workforce development!

For the Community Advisory Board, we are looking for active participation from community members who are engaged in green jobs and workforce development and that reflect the variety of backgrounds, interests, lived experiences, and expertises of Boston residents. We welcome all applications. Please note: We have a limited number of seats on the CAB so we will optimize for diversity and inclusive representation.
