Jose E. Ramirez serves as Outreach, Recruitment, and Communications Coordinator at the Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity, where he oversees and supports the Department’s outreach plan, communications, social media, and recruitment strategies.

Born in Arizona, U.S., and raised in Sonora, Mexico, Jose has had the opportunity to gain professional and educational experience in both countries. In 2013 he attended Pima Community College in Arizona, where he became Treasurer of the International Student Board and is currently pursuing his Communications Degree from Universidad Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM). 

Having previously worked within the private sector, Jose started his career in government working for the Mexican Consulate in St. Paul, Minnesota. There, he assisted the Mexican community in the area by consulting, connecting them to legal resources, and processing financial assistance applications. 

Later, he transferred to the General Consulate of Mexico in Boston, where he began a new role as the Community Affairs Coordinator. In that new role, he was responsible for connecting Mexican nationals with a variety of government and local resources as well as establishing relationships with non-profits. He also coordinated a variety of events, including the 2021 Binational Sports Day at East Boston, and the 2022 Mexican Flag Raising at City Hall.

Jose’s professional background and bilingual skills, along with his leadership and passion to serve different communities, have given him the ability to keep connecting youth with the Success Link Employment Program.
