Ashley Montgomery
Ashley Montgomery, serves as the Director of the Mayor's Office of Returning Citizens.
Born and raised in the city, Ashley brings a deep understanding of the crucial role support plays in the lives of returning citizens. With over 15 years of experience in human services and government, Ashley has been a driving force in various roles. Early in Ashley’s career she spent time working behind the wall, assisting inmates in securing housing, reaching out to various resources, and providing workshops for inmates within one year of their earliest release date. Ashley also worked as a Research Analyst where her focus was understanding barriers that lead to recidivism. Prior to her current position, she served as the Director of Regional Operations at the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, showcasing her commitment to addressing complex societal challenges.
Ashley plays a pivotal role in managing priority initiatives, shaping strategic plans, and bolstering reentry services. Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and a master’s from St. John’s University in Criminology and Justice. Ashley Montgomery's dedication to public service underscores her impactful leadership in facilitating positive change on the lives of those reintegrating into society.
