Our arts and crafts workshops are led by local artists. They're held Tuesday through Friday in July and August and run from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. These drop-in workshops encourage kids to explore their creativity through projects like mask making, crayon art, watercolor and much more. Supplies are provided, but you'll need to bring your creativity! 

This series is completely free and open to Boston residents. These workshops will take place in various parks throughout the City of Boston.

Registration is encouraged so we know how many supplies to bring (pre-registration is required for groups of 8 or more). Please email Shannon.murphy2@boston.gov to register.

The Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture is holding two question-and-answer sessions on Thursday, May 12, at noon and 6 p.m. via Zoom. Artists interested in applying to paint a utility box through the PaintBox program can attend to learn more about the program, the eligibility guidelines, and application details. We will be answering artists' questions at the end.

The Mayor's Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement and Mayor's Office of Arts & Culture will be celebrating National LGBTQ+ Pride month by hosting, supporting, and amplifying events that serve the local Queer community.

This celebration of National LGBTQ+ Pride Month will feature the unveiling of Portraits of Pride, a photography project that highlights LGBTQ+ leaders, which will remain on the Plaza for the entire month of June. The event will also include a flag raising and several performances including Big Body Kweeng, Neon Calypso, Patty Bourrée, and more!

Several poets will be reading original poems that celebrate Boston and remind people what a culturally exciting city it is to live and work in. The event is free and open to the public, and will also be livestreamed on the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture Facebook page.

The selected poems will be displayed in Boston City Hall and will also be available in an online gallery. The deadline to submit a poem is April 15, 2022, at 5 p.m.
