Mattahunt Woods Spring Cleanup Celebration

Celebrate the spring season by joining neighbors and City staff to learn about one of Mattapan's remarkable natural areas and ongoing improvement projects! We will work together to remove trash and weeds from part of the woodland, making it a healthier and safer place for people and wildlife.

RAIN DATE: Sunday March 24th

Urban Wilds staff in partnership with the Environment Department welcome community members to join us for an afternoon of "spring cleaning" in Mattahunt Woods Urban Wild. We will work together to remove trash and debris that have been dumped on site over the past few years. Additionally, we will work on managing weeds and vines that harm the woodland. This will also be a great chance for City staff and community members to learn from each other about Mattahunt Woods. We hope you will join us to talk, celebrate spring, and maybe even roll up your sleeves!

Please be sure to wear sturdy, close-toed footwear, long pants and sleeves, and clothes you wouldn't mind getting dirty. No experience is necessary and Urban Wilds staff will provide tools and instructions. Arrive promptly to sign a waiver, meet your fellow volunteers, and then listen to a safety talk.

Route 57 Transit Priority Corridor Open House

Learn about the updates we've made to our design since last August, and give feedback and input on commercial loading and access needs.

February 15, 2024
2024-02-15T18:00:00 - 2024-02-15T19:30:00

The Route 57 Transit Priority Corridor Project Team has updated designs and information to share about the project, which will change the way the street works on Tremont, Washington, and Cambridge Streets in Allston and Brighton. This includes removing parking to add bus lanes, adding space at streetcorners to improve visibility, and reducing pedestrian crossing distances to improve safety. We've taken feedback from the community at our last meeting, and incorporated it into our design.

Dinner will be provided.

For more information about disability access or language interpretation, please contact transit@boston.gov and LCA@boston.gov.
