DJ Bruno

In 1991, he began a residency at the Boston Loft after-hours club with Armand Van Helden. The following year, he started the Legendary Utopia Parties. Utopia still remains as one of Boston’s hottest deep house music events. In 2006, Boston Magazine named DJ Bruno “DJ of the Year'' and in 2007, Weekly Dig awarded Utopia Sundays the “Best House Night in Boston.” With clubs not opened to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic, DJ Bruno decided to take his music virtual on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Face the Bass Records and on Fridays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on DHP Radio. His motto is, “If we can dance together, we can live together” and he is on a mission to spread this motto all over the world, whether it be virtually or in person. Follow DJ Bruno on Instagram @djbruno30.

Phunk Phenomenon

Phunk Phenomenon Dance Complex is a non-traditional dance studio. Our Mission is to reach out to today's youth through the art of urban dance. Hip-hop is not just a dance it is a culture containing 5 elements. Our goal is to educate our students on those 5 elements within each of our specialized classes. Urban dance styles have always been the heart of inner cities as a way of expression and a means of building self esteem. The Phunk Phenomenon instructors will provide each class with a truly positive experience through what we like to refer to as "EDUTAINMENT", meaning we not only teach choreography but we also teach the history behind each art form.

The renovations included a multipurpose softball field with a small soccer field in the outfield.  Amenities include shaded dugouts, LED lighting, ball netting, drinking fountains, and bleachers. Inclusive play area for kids of all abilities, including roller table, cozy cocoon spinner, slides and musical instruments. Introduced traffic calming strategies for the access drive to the DCR parking lot and Dorchester Yacht Club to slow cars down, and so much more!

In December 2016, the City of Boston’s Climate Ready Boston report, laid out a long-term framework for preparing Boston for the effects of climate change. After studying various alternatives that kept inclusion and accessibility at the forefront of the design, the final site plan accommodated high water events in the field, and raised the grade of the parking lot and Springdale Street to deflect water from the abutters.
