Mecagni, a resident of East Boston, is Head, Archives and Special Collections at Northeastern’s University Library. Mecagni will support the project by locating primary source documents in collections at Northeastern and elsewhere in the City. She will advise the project and guide the research. Mecagni has ten years of experience collecting and rendering accessible the history of Boston’s under- represented communities. She holds a leadership position in the Boston Research Center, a digital community history and archives lab whose goal is to bring Boston’s neighborhood and community histories to light through the creation of new technologies. Mecagni holds an MS (archives concentration) from Simmons School for Library and Information Science and a BA from the University of New Hampshire, Durham.
